Last month, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) hosted events across the country as part of National Small Business Week (NSBW), a celebration of our country’s entrepreneurs and small business owners. In its 50th year, NSBW acknowledges small businesses’ contributions to our communities and economy. Small businesses create two of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year, and more than half of all Americans either own or work for a small business.
To help SBA spread the word about the exciting events throughout the week – including live-streamed panels, business matchmaking, awards ceremonies and more – ENC Strategy, as part of the eSTARS team, developed a specialized social media outreach campaign and complementary creative assets. Our tailored social media posts helped drive folks to register and tune in – and we saw some great results. Compared to NSBW 2012, there was a:
- 22 percent jump in Twitter retweets
- 56 percent increase in online conversations
- 203 percent growth in viral reach
- 500+ percent surge in Facebook likes
We also saw a noteworthy increase in traffic to some other relevant content promoted during the week, including information about how to start a business and to SBA’s business plan tool. These results are almost as exciting as the week itself. And if you missed it, you can still check out the events online here.
Our SBA digital campaigns continue to deliver results, not only for the agency but also for small business owners. Stay tuned to see what we do next!
