Washington Gas, the largest, best-known business unit within WGL, is a regulated utility. The average tenure of a Washington Gas employee is 23 years. So rapid change there was a most uncommon occurrance.
ENC helped WGL guide its employees through a dramatic transformation—from the brand of the beloved but stolid Washington Gas Company to the brand of a fast-moving, full-service energy company. During the transition, we:
- Developed internal messaging explaining why, when, and how the change would occur.
- Developed extensive external messaging that explained how WGL supports types of customers ranging from DoD to drycleaners.
- Managed and produced communications assets for a step-by-step internal roll-out program.
- Promoted a new intranet site where employees could learn about all of the capabilities WGL provides to customers.
